Principle 6: Studying. The First Discipline of Knowledge.

Have you ever really thought about the difference between reading about something versus studying something? It’s the intensity, focus, and willingness to act on what you’ve learned that make the difference.
Think about how you increase your blogging knowledge. Are you merely reading lots of information about blogging or are you truly studying it. Those who study new information then put that knowledge to work. Can you say the same? If not, why not?
A lot of times we like to fool ourselves into believing that by staying busy, by reading a lot, by following what others are doing, we are studying and growing in our blogging skills. That self-delusion can lead to inaction which can lead to blog failure.
Don’t let yourself get sucked into that trap. Study–then act. By stepping out and trying new things, you will actually begin to practice new skills and grow your knowledge about blogging. Does that involve risk? It can. The risk of failure, the risk of looking foolish, the risk of achieving blogging greatness and success.
Hmmm. Think it might be worth the risk?
