I realize this is not related to the things I’ve been posting lately, but I hate it that there is the potential for uranium mining in Northern Colorado. Having just moved here in late August, I learned that there are companies that are attempting to perform in situ leach uranium mining near Wellington and Nunn in Weld County, Colorado. Although I’m in Loveland, Wellington and Nunn are my neighbors to the north.
Dismayed, I decided that action, at whatever level, was the best course. I’m currently helping with admin tasks for GUARD and monitor the CARD site for regular updates. In the next few days, I hope to start a new blog about the threat of uranium mining to Northern Colorado, so be watching for that. If each of us does what we can, if we each take action, this threat to Northern Colorado can be stopped.
