A Post, A Post, My Kingdom for a Post

May 20th, 2008 · No Comments

Ok, so it’s not really that drastic, but I realized it had been several days since my last post and wanted to get started on one. Ever had writer’s block before? Well, I have a giant case of one today–must be the pounding headache (but I digress).

Ask anyone who’s been blogging for any amount of time what their number one concern is and they’ll tell you it’s creating consistent, compelling, useful blog posts. There’s always that lurking fear that one day they’ll wake up and have nothing to say, nothing worth discussing, nothing to write! Sometimes it does happen that way–by accident not design.

A little lack of planning, a little busyness in everyday life, and a few days turns into a few weeks and nothing new has been posted on the blog. After while, the inertia feeds on itself and then the blogger begins to feel like, “Well, it’s been so long since my last post maybe I should just give up and throw in the towel.”

If you’ve ever felt like that or if that’s happened to your blog, never fear. It’s not too late to resurrect your blog, to begin writing regularly again, to regain the fire for your topic that you felt when you first began blogging.

What’s the cure? Start writing. It’s just that simple and just that hard. Set up a schedule and do your best to keep to it. Plan out the topics you want to cover in future posts. Write down article ideas as they occur to you. Never again let the fear of having nothing to say have a say in your blogging habits.

What are others saying on this topic? What do you say?

Blogging Etiquette…. - If you have a blog and you have regular readers then you have to follow blogging etiquette and update your blog on a regular basis (at least that is my personal opinion!). So…. To keep fresh content ‘in’, and stale blogs ‘out’ we will …

Commitment and Consistency: Formula for Blogging Success - I’ve been there and it’s not pretty. So! What’s the moral of the story? Blog often and blog regularly. The commitment you show to your readers and to the success of your blog will easily translate into reader loyalty and increased visitors.
