7 Great Reasons to Write an e-Book to Market Online

February 23rd, 2008 · No Comments

Here’s my list of 7 great reasons to write your own e-book to market online.

  1. Uniqueness. If you write your own e-book to market, you won’t be trying to market the same thing that hundreds of others are marketing, too.
  2. Low Cost. You can write your own book for minimal cost. You probably already have some type of word processing software loaded on your computer. You probably already have access to the internet and your local library for researching your topic. And, you can find free .pdf converters (Open Office Suite is a good choice) online to finish your product for delivery.
  3. No Inventory Carrying Costs. Other than the cost of a hosted website (which you can get for free, if absolutely necessary when you first start out), you don’t have to buy inventory and you don’t need a storage facility.
  4. No Mailing Costs. I’ve been helping my hubby sell some of his biking, woodworking, and fishing gear on e-Bay for a few years now. I sure did get tired of standing in line at the post office or swinging by UPS to send the things out. And, some of the packages were darn heavy! If you deliver your e-book digitally, the USPS and UPS people will sure miss seeing your smiling face–but you’ll save your gas and your time.
  5. Multiple Selling Venues. Once you have your own product, you can market it from your own web site, on e-Bay, through Clickbank, through LuLu, or even on Amazon.
  6. People Go Online Looking for Information. People online are looking for information and are willing to purchase it, too. Create an outstanding information product, and you’ll have a marketing success.
  7. You Can Do It All Over Again. Once you have one product created and have success marketing it, you can repeat the process to develop another cash flow stream.
